Arun Patel
Arun R. Patel, MD, JD, MBE is a highly accomplished physician attorney dedicated to improving patient safety and quality of care in healthcare. In his current role as the Chief Patient Safety and Clinical Risk Officer for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (LADHS), he oversees activities related to ensuring that patients do not experience preventable harm while receiving care, and management of and response to adverse events and malpractice claims. During his time at LADHS, Dr. Patel has held numerous other senior executive roles including Chief of Quality, Chief of Pharmacy, and Chief of Compliance. Dr. Patel is a passionate advocate for patient safety and has been instrumental in developing and implementing high reliability practices based on a culture of trust, support, and transparency to foster collaboration and continuous improvement among staff and clinicians. He is also a recognized leader in support of the communication and resolution approach to adverse events.
