Tamara Herrick

Director, Community Education Programs-Healthy Aging, MaineHealth

Dr. Tamara Herrick serves as the Director of Community Education Programs–Healthy Aging with the MaineHealth Medical Group Community Health Improvement team. She leads efforts to advance evidence based approaches that promote healthy aging and support older adults in aging in place. Dr. Herrick also directs the MaineHealth Alzheimer’s Disease Partnership, funded by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), and oversees research evaluating the virtual adaptation and dissemination of the Matter of Balance fall prevention program. Her expertise spans healthy aging, chronic disease prevention, public health, and health services evaluation. Dr. Herrick is deeply committed to translating research into practice and equipping healthcare professionals, community organizations, and systems with effective strategies to better serve older adults. She holds a PhD in Gerontology from the University of Massachusetts McCormick School of Public Policy and Global Studies and completed a two-year NIH funded predoctoral clinical research fellowship at the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Center.
