Baruch Fertel

System Vice President of Quality & Safety, NewYork Presbyterian

Dr. Fertel directs enterprise-wide quality, safety and regulatory strategy, vision and initiatives at NewYork-Presbyterian, helping the health system deliver superior patient outcomes and maintain top-tier national performance. Under his leadership, the system has earned consistent CMS 5-star ratings, Leapfrog “A” safety grades and high Vizient rankings.  He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and Clinical Informatics. An award winning and accomplished academic physician with the rank of Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, Dr. Fertel has published more than 100 abstracts, manuscripts, and book chapters, and has also made numerous media (TV/print) appearances. He is a graduate of the NYU School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center/Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
